Johannes Pramsohler and his colleagues rummaged through Bach’s luggage and that of his contemporaries and found concertos that were probably conceived especially to be taken on journeys. Grouped around the first version of the Fifth Brandenburg Concerto, these remarkable and brilliant pieces for up to five soloists are played with Ensemble Diderot’s trademark warmth and vitality.
En fouillant dans les malles de voyage de Bach et de ses contemporains, Johannes Pramsohler et ses collègues ont trouvé des concertos vraisemblablement conçus exprès pour être joués on the road. Réunies autour de la première version du Cinquième Concerto Brandebourgeois, ces œuvres remarquables et brillantes, écrites pour un petit effectif de cinq solistes maximum, sont interprétées ici par l’Ensemble Diderot avec la chaleur et la vivacité qui le caractérisent.
